Goodbye Blogspot.

Sad story. Not really.
I guess I gave in into simplistic beauty.
I've joined the Tumblr generation.
Think simpler posting, Twitter like ease of access, and well, easier customization.

find me here. jonathankwok.tumblr.com

See you there.

Updating.

I'm still alive!
Been productive lately. Summer's coming to an end. Just fired off a couple of shirt designs for the incoming year! Might post em later. :]

Today's realization....not really: I love how people ignore me. Why do I even try? Obviously you're telling something aren't you? Pfft.

Schools almost here :D.

Will be back.

P.S. Defintion of a blog: #? A place to update people about your life. Also a place to share thoughts, rants, and opinions.

Health Care Reform.... eee.

This is such a hot topic. Honestly, I DO NOT KNOW MUCH, but what I see on the news, and the videos of people's "outrage" is quite, well, not to put no value on their opinons, but STUPID. It's like: -OH I SEE A CONGRESSMAN, IM GOING TO RIP HIS HEAD OFF- instead of actually hearing, even if it seems faulty, what they have to say. One sided on both sides eh?

-rant continues-

Before you make a decision. BEFORE YOU EVEN START SHOUTING. WILL IT HURT YOU TO LISTEN!?

Oh, and to answer someone's statement on "Our health care system is fine, we just need a few small adjustments."

In my honest opinion... Uummm. WHAT HEATLH CARE SYSTEM do we HAVE?
My parents work hard to pay the private insurance companies that help me stay well.

But then again, I don't know much, so I'll go listen/read.

BUT PLEASE. Before you start SHOUTING your OPINION, let the other side talk.

Some democractic citizens we are.

Oh well. Times are changing.

God Bless. :]

JayKayism for the Randoms: inspirational words.

You.
Hello you.

Face yourself in the mirror.

Only so many advice can be given.
Only so many observations can be presented.
Only so much can one bring you to.

The power is in you. You who make, break, or create.

Where you'll end is unknown.
Only YOU can decide how you'll get there.

When the whole world looks to you.

Usually I write with site updates, or about what has been happening in my life, but today will be a little different. I will write about all my life's events in another post.

I just want to let my two-cents out a bit. It'll be a short post.

Recently, one thing subconciously bugs me. A lot of things has been happening in our global community, and withing our backyard. Tax hikes, budget cuts, job lay off, economic crisis, recession, North Korea, the troubles in the Middle East, and much much more. All these are events that require dire attention, that I agree with. However, all these events, always lead to discussion, and whether jokingly, or seriously pleading, I keep on hearing "Obama, DO SOMETHING."

Yes, I agree that Obama should be exerting efforts to help these events, especially the recent North Korean sentencing on the journalists, but I do firmly believe that Obama has so much on his plate already. Our president is doing a swell job, already so quick in actions, but honestly, in observations, he is juggling with so much (budget, job cuts, bunch of world leader's and society really ponding on him to fix things.) Thought it will take time, I think that when we all keep on looking to Obama, we're just delaying more and more things, and in the end we're just going to complain about what he is failing to do.

Now do I think he should respons swiftly and ASAP to events like the Lee/Ling Hostage in North Korea, Middle East Crisis? Yes, but with consideration that he is doing so much already. So, I'd be satisfied if he relased a statement soon, and be happy. We know he is going to somehow help out, but we should really look at the UN for aide. Why look at one to solve, when we can look at ALL leaders, and somehow hope (maybe even with Obama spearheading) they can come up with peaceful actions and solutions.

So before you say "Obama, why (or should) did (or didn't) he do ______", just think about the mess that he has to clean. He's one man, working his best.

With no offence intended towards anyone,
-J.

Sleep is good.

Sleep really helps kill those mental attacks.

Though I didn't want to wake up (warm bed and cold room go figure), I feel quite good. Putting final touches onto Prom preview videos and will finish working what ever I need to do along with homework :D.

Good day L.A.? We'll see :]

Wanderings.

Spring Break! Wooo. Loving the relaxation.
Ever had those moments where everything seemed fine.
Then you have a thought attack?

I do wonder. Maybe... just maybe.
Things are better off without me?
Things are happier. Not weird. Not crazy?

Not dramatic. or complicated?.

hmmm.

wanderings.

P.S. Homework Thursday tomorrow.

THANK YOU STATE GOVERNMENT! YOU ARE JUST SO SMART!

GOSH!
I REALLY DISLIKE OUR STATE GOVERNMENT.
The budget cuts have hit home and cut it right through!

This may sound selfish, but honestly it's part of my anger.

Cause the stupid state legislature deceided the best way is to cut SCHOOL/FUTURE fundings, guess what's happening. TEACHER'S are being laid off. It all adds to a domino effect. You cut a teacher, you mess up a system, you impact a student, you destroy plans that have been worked so hard to achieve.

THANK YOU GOVERNMENT.

TWO STRIKES.

1. This year, I've embarked on a project with one of my art teachers... and heaven forbid, the axe is heading this way. PROJECT REACH is not going to die. But it really sucks, to know that my advisor over this may feel the blade cause of such stupidity we run under. I'm just probably going to dedicate the project to my advisor now.

2. They've cut another program. A program that I've had a promising opprutinty to actually etch a brand and break into the market with. One where I've worked hard to create a design and at it's speed. BUT IT'S CUT. THANK YOU GOVERNMENT!

If one more strike happens, you'll see the other side of me on this blog. One that normally never happens, unless im completely FURIOUS.

It was a good day, until these events happened. It sucks, but YOU may be calm, don't stop me cause I have the right as a citizen to stand up for WHATS NOT RIGHT.

peace.

March 10, 2009

Today was a pretty good day. Take away some hectic-ness and it'd been a good day. School was interesting, and is the same normal rountine. Watched Gatsby, and hoped the math test was alright.

Soon, the routine was shocked by the fact that I found out I had to swim the 500 yards for the siwm meet. OHHH MYYYYYYY GOSH. I'm glad I did do it though, because the whole ordeal was a rewarding experience. I wouldn't say that a 7 minute 13 second time is the best, but I'm glad that I bit the bullet and died a bit, but lived to see that there is life after the 500! XD Other than that, I thought the meet was really good. Pasadena had some really nice kids. I thought the teams did amazing in effort and pushing themselves. GO JV BOYS, the only SG team that brought home a victory (and Varisty girls...almost...). Personal goals reached: did a better 100 freestyle, and I think came pretty close to first during the backstroke at the 200 IM. Oh yeah, and finally gotten back to my normal competition timeframe of the 26-28 seconds 50 frees. Brian Stern got an amazing 25 second 50 Free :] (and plus he did pretty well at the 100 backstroke.) GOOD JOB BRIAN TRAN for your events today, and going through the 500!

Like I said, everybody did really well today. Very impressed with the "good races" and "Good job" heartfelt comments given to PHS :].

GG Chris. You look absolutely fine in that speedo breif. Much props for actually wearing one from now on xD. Now it's RICKi's TURN!

hmmm. I think this is a long enough post? Until next time. :]

I just noticed...

WHOA! I just noticed.
I have many blogs... wonder what is compelling me to settle with this one.
My blogging life began at the tender age of 11 with my first Xanga (w3bmaster930). Then it sparked off 3 more xangas. -.-" And then I made a move to blogspot with "This Life on Earth"... of course that died and I returned back to xanga... only to find out that I would also find a comeback on blogspot with vlogs like this one :D. Truth be told, a big reason of this rseruction of a blogspot blog is that I do feel like it's time to grow up. Xanga is cool, but to me, its limits aren't going to contain what I want from is for very long more. So hello blogspot, once more.

OHH! The CSULA video documentary is a bit delayed. Swim + School has been eating up my time. Sorry! :D

The journey began for CSULA Honor Choir.

Before the creation of this blog, the journey to new experiences began for maybe the first time San Gabriel High School's Matador Choir ever to send section leaders to participate in such events.
Definitely it is a lesson to learn.

Early January, we're in deeeeeeep shock that we've been invited. Excited that we: Andy, April, Charles, Jonathan (me!!!), and Miraya have been chosen to represent SG at the event. It was to be the first time that any of us has ever particpated in such type of event.

Time came by, and with assurance by Ms.Revilla (our choir director), we await for the music to arrive. Time flew, and it was the last week of January... the music finalllllllly came.

All of us stretched our schedules, and met with Ms.Revilla at scattered times to rehearse. To add to the dismay, Jury Duty took her away for two days, leaving us with 5 songs to learn within 48 hours.

-deeeep sighs-

It's going to be an interesting one.
